Exploring the Localization of Accessories for Electric Stackers

By unionforklift.com 17 November 2023 No Comments

Upon encountering this title, you might have pondered over the notion of “localization” and, in doing so, contemplated the identity of the world’s largest manufacturing country to which it alludes.

Fully electric stackers are primarily employed in logistics and warehousing systems, serving as a core component for the transfer and stacking/unstacking of goods. Operating under high-intensity conditions, where the loaded goods often exceed 1 ton, and lifting heights sometimes surpass 4 meters, the electrical and hydraulic systems of fully electric stackers continuously work under low voltage and high current, presenting a significant challenge to the overall component performance.

The electrical circuit of a direct current (DC) fully electric stacker typically comprises a central controller, main contactor, reversing contactor, accelerator, and 150A fuse.

Regardless of whether it’s a domestic or international forklift manufacturer, the preferred choice for the electrical circuit system is generally the American CURTIS electrical system assembly, although some opt for the Italian ZAPI system. Based on experience, the CURTIS electrical system assembly, imported from the United States, is more stable and user-friendly. However, it’s crucial to differentiate among CURTIS system models as they vary according to different stacker circuit designs. Opting for the American original CURTIS electrical system assembly ensures a qualitative difference in the overall performance of the stacker.

In trials to cut costs, some companies experimented with various domestic brands of controllers and contactors, but the results were unsatisfactory. Issues such as controllers not working or burning out and poor contact of contactor points were prevalent. The analysis revealed that, despite the almost identical appearance, the core materials of domestic components differed significantly from imported ones. Although there is a price gap, considering both the credibility of the company and customer satisfaction, it is not a cost-effective solution. Additionally, in case of problems, foreign customers are unable to carry out repairs.

Therefore, as of now, the American original CURTIS electrical system is the unequivocal choice for stacker production and design.

The lifting and lowering system of stackers adopts the hydraulic lifting principle, where pressure from a single point is greater than that from a larger surface, achieving the goal of lifting goods.

The application of hydraulic principles is a mature technology, widely and adeptly used in various scenarios and components by numerous domestic manufacturers. For stackers, the challenge lies in the performance of the motor. Poor motor performance leads to overheating after a short working period, ultimately causing burnout, and an inability to lift larger-tonnage goods since the power does not meet the requirements.

Presently, stacker hydraulic systems (pump stations) commonly use Swiss BUCHER hydraulic workstations or Italian HPI hydraulic workstations, both of which offer similar performance. In cases where the tonnage requirements are not substantial, domestically produced pump stations can be used appropriately. Compared to domestic pump stations, imported pump stations are not only more stable in performance but also more compact. For pump stations with the same power, imports are generally smaller and more exquisite, with a smooth working sound and a noticeable absence of heavy-load noise. Both are almost identical in terms of installation ease of use and working principles.

In conclusion, the reason why domestic components have not achieved the excellent performance of imported ones may be related to the insufficient level of the domestic basic industry or incomplete production standards. As professional distributors, we consistently adhere to the principle of prioritizing customers, choosing components with the most optimal economic performance to make our products competitive and highly satisfactory to customers.
